Notice is hereby given that the Chester Township Board of Zoning Appeals will conduct a public hearing on August 10, 2026 for the following:
**BZA-2026-7, continued from July 6, 2026
The applicants, Casey and Kelly Marks are requesting an area variance for their property located at 8620 Camelot Drive. They propose connecting their home to an existing detached accessory building. This proposal is in violation of Section 501.17 of the Chester Township Zoning Resolution requiring a minimum Side Setback of 25’.
**BZA-2026-10
The applicants, David and Geneva Maiden, located at 8985 Cedar Rd in Zoning District R5A are requesting to locate a proposed detached accessory building of conforming size and height in the front yard of their property. This proposal is in violation of Section 501.3.C Accessory Buildings of the Chester Township Zoning Resolution, which states detached accessory buildings shall be located no closer to the road right of way than the primary structure. Topographical issues complying with conforming zoning setbacks prevent building in conforming locations.
**ZA-2026-1, continued until 12-14-2026
The applicant, Paul Ridley is requesting an area variance for height and size of a proposed accessory building. The accessory building would have an area of 8,424 square feet and a proposed median height of 25’. This proposal is in violation of the maximum total area of 2,500 square feet per Section 501.3 of the Chester Township Zoning Resolution and the 20’ median height permitted per Section 501.17 of the Chester Township Zoning Resolution.
