What Chester Township will take: Tires (off the rim). Refrigerators (with Freon removed), washers, dryers, televisions, stoves, dishwashers, old furniture, mattresses, and other unwanted items. Please note the following guidelines: To prevent possible bed bug transferable (or other pest), all mattresses, couches and upholstered furniture MUST be wrapped in plastic and taped securely, or they will not be taken.
What Chester Township will not take: Liquids, paint or other hazardous materials, propane tanks, construction debris, batteries, rocks, yard waste or household garbage. Small items should be consolidated in strong boxes or bundled, and items kept dry with a tarp, if possible.
Chester Twp. & GTSWM are partnering with Lake-Geauga Habitat for Humanity this year: Their staff will be on site to accept good condition / reusable furniture, appliances and other items, such as cabinets, doors, hardware, house wares, lawn and garden, lighting and tools.
