The Chester Township Police Department prides itself on an unwavering commitment to the 10,300 residents of our community.  Our goal is to provide exceptional police service, while adhering to our mission statement and core values.

We are comprised of 15 full time officers, one auxiliary officer and an administrative specialist.  The Police Department has a Patrol Division, Detective Bureau, Bicycle Patrol as well as an officer assigned to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office – Regional SWAT team in addition to 2 officers assigned to the U.S. Marshals Task Force.

Mission Statement and Core Values

Establishing a value-based department with a clear mission, provides a moral compass from which all decision making originates.

With the assistance of every employee at the Chester Township Police Department, we have developed six core values.  These values represent the fundamental character, culture, and belief system of this agency.  They direct and guide us through a difficult and everchanging profession.  They are the foundation for everything we do and everything we seek to accomplish.
